Barbara Stines

Birth Date: January 3, 1950
Death Date: September 13, 2018

Barbara Kay Stines, 68 of Coweta, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in a Tulsa hospital.  She was born January 3, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late John Martin and Kathleen Maude Evans Martin.

The 3 things in life that Barbara loved most were her grandkids, camping with Heavy, and drinking beer, simple things for a simple woman.  I have yet to find one single person in life who had anything but love for her. She was a tiny woman who would go toe to toe with anybody who did anything to her children.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Stines and wife Cindy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Laura Alexander and husband Larry of Coweta, Oklahoma; two brothers, Kenneth Martin and wife Sharon of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Phillip Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Christine Kent of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Ann Martin of Glenpool, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Dalton Stines, Bailey Stines, Taylor Stines, Michelle Thomas and Scott Alexander; and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Stines; her parents, John and Kathleen Martin; one brother, Jerry Martin and one brother-in-law, Calvin Kent.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Barbara’s honor to the Disabled American Veteran’s or Folds of Honor.

    Stines,
I’m sorry I could not be there today. I have many Great and fun memories from when we were growing up and hanging out at your house. I always thought your mom was one cool lady and she always had the kids back. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I loved Barbara as if she was my own mom. She helped me thru the loss of my mom and I could never repay her for that. She was the most loving and caring woman I know. Tommy and her are now back together and God received a beautiful angel in Barbara.
