Ann Mirly “Postier” Myrtle

Myrtle Ann (Postier) Mirly was born Feb. 19, 1931 in Bluejacket, Oklahoma, the twelfth child of Nora Ann and Charles Taylor. She entered into eternity on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Myrtle Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Nora Ann and Charles Taylor, her stepfather, Leslie Powell, her husband, Cecil Postier, her brothers, Clarence Taylor, Jack Taylor, Walter Taylor; her sisters, Ollie Taylor, Charlotte Taylor, Ruby Taylor, Dorothy Dawson, and Rachel Caulk. She is survived in marriage by Oscar A. (Jack) Mirly, brother, Wilbur (Buck) Taylor, and sisters, Lorene Wendt, Alma Jean Carpino, and Jerrie McMillan. Myrlte Ann is survived by her children, sons, Russell Postier and wife, Ruthann of Edmond, Oklahoma, Steven Postier and wife, Susan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Clarence Postier and wife, Dee Ann of Vinita, Oklahoma, and daughter Carol Ann Gibbs of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Cody Postier and wife Natasha, Collin Postier and wife, Katie, Christian Postier, Christopher Postier, Allen Postier, Erika Gibbs, Clinton Postier, Clayton Postier; two great grandchildren, Tyler Walker, and Jackson Postier and many beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. On December 31, 1948, Myrtle Ann married Cecil Glen Postier of Vinita, Oklahoma. They spent the majority of their married lives in Vinita where they raised their family of four children. Cecil and Myrtle Ann both worked for many years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Myrtle Ann loved to bake, garden, and spend time with her family. Cecil Postier passed away on June 7, 1975. Myrtle Ann moved to Tulsa and continued her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone where she retired in October of 1988. She met and married Oscar A. (Jack) Mirly at Good Shephard Lutheran Church on December 3, 1988. Myrtle Ann and Jack lived many happy years in Tulsa near their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Cowboy Junction Church, Vinita, Oklahoma on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6465 South Yale, Suite 312, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136.
