Dorotha Evelyn Rodecker (Dot), a resident of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of ninety-six (96) on December 29th, 2021. Dorotha (Dot) was born on May 27, 1925, to Phillip and Maude Eppler in Elmore City, Oklahoma. She graduated Webster High school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Rodecker at the roller-skating rink at Mohawk Park. They were married on April 20th, 1942, spending sixty-two (62) amazing years together before Bob passed away on March 15th of 2004. Dot is the proud mother of two daughters, Carol Lynn Manuel and Robie Lea Chambers. She also has three beautiful grandchildren, Tracy Dawn Groom, Gregory Wayne Strickland, and Jamie Lynn Lilleskau. Dot also has multiple great grandchildren, as well as great-great grandchildren. The Rodecker household was filled with laughter and love. The doors were always open to family and friends, especially, each Sunday after church when the family would gather for a potluck meal that included any number of friends stopping by throughout the day. Bob and Dot thoroughly enjoyed, playing games, music and dancing, attending social events in the community, trips to the lake with the family, and traveling extensively across the U.S. In her spare time, Dot loved reading books, watching baseball and football, looking at house plans, working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Lawrence Welk and HGTV. Dot will be fondly remembered as a social butterfly; beautiful, vivacious, highly energetic and strong willed. In addition to caring for her family, Dot worked in a variety of professional positions and spent over twenty (20) years in the banking industry, ultimately retiring as the Bank Vault Manager at F&M Bank and Trust in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dot had a lifelong goal that a member of the Rodecker family would become a college graduate. In order to see that goal, become a reality, Dot worked an additional five (5) years beyond her retirement age to help her eldest granddaughter, Tracy Groom, become the first member of the family to earn a college degree. Dot was a remarkable woman, a “lady.” She made a lasting impact on many lives and is deeply missed.
