Mary Stout of Verdigris (transplanted from Tulsa) who was born November 6, 1952 at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa to Rosalie and Floyd Neal Hardesty passed away July 28, 2011.  Maryâ??s services are scheduled for Monday afternoon at 12:30 pm through Floral Havenâ??s Chapel. Visitation is available on Saturday or Sunday through Floral Havenâ??s viewing facilities. Mary attended Tulsa Public Schools and upon completion went to work at the site of her birth where she met her husband Tim. They were married in early 1972 and shortly thereafter were blessed with their daughter Lisa,  four years later they were blessed with their son Brian. One of the biggest joys in Maryâ??s life was the time she shared with her grandchildren Cynthia, Victoria, Matthew, and little Mary. She had a gift of being able to dispense love and compassion in equal measures, which made her â?? the best Mom on the blockâ? and it also helped her excel in her chosen vocation of helping raise other peopleâ??s children which kept her occupied throughout her working life. She would read stories to kids, join them in coloring a favorite picture in a coloring book, playing kids games and watching kids TV shows while serving popcorn or drinking root beer floats.  Many of the children whose lives she touched then still loved her today and kept in contact. Mary also loved animals, was a member of Tulsa Zoo Friends and enjoyed taking the grandkids there on outings. This loving nature towards animals carried over into her home life where she maintained a houseful of pets that remain at the door waiting for her to come home. Mary also had the knack of being able to make and keep friends. This gift was mainly due to her refusal to discuss religious or political issues. She enjoyed playing Bunco with a  group of friends and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at home for the holidays. Holidays were special to her and she loved everything associated with holiday preparations, the shopping, the decorating, the cooking,  wrapping presents and most of all, hosting family and friends for holiday dinners.  It didnâ??t matter which holiday it was either, she was ready to make any occasion special, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July, and especially Christmas. She loved giving presents and it gave her great joy to share in the kids excitement and watch the expression on their faces when they opened â??what I always wantedâ? . Her calendar was full of birthdays, anniversaries, and other events she looked forward to celebrating with that special someone for a day. Little did anyone realize that the best gift was the person dispensing the gifts. The last few years of Maryâ??s life were beset with horrific diseases that didnâ??t slow her down or kill her happy spirit.  The extra years of life that she was able to enjoy while afflicted with these diseases was due to the expert care of a group of medical professionals that deserve thanks from our family. Mary leaves behind a family that loves her very much and will miss her beyond any comprehension. She will always have a place in the hearts of many and will never be forgotten.
