March 10, 1930 - August 9, 2010
Norma Lee (Boyce) Jackson passed from this life to her true and final home with Christ on August 9th, 2010. She was born on March 10th 1930 in Ponca City Oklahoma to Oral R. and Ruby G. Boyce. After a short period in Ponca City and then Denver Colorado the family moved to Tulsa where Norma finished high school at Tulsa Rogers H.S. and met her life long love and husband to be John K. (Ken) Jackson. They had three children; Cindy Sedustine from Maple Valley Washington, Gary Jackson from Winchester Oklahoma and Wes Jackson from Bixby Oklahoma. There are 6 grandchildren; Cedar Sedustine, Tyler Sedustine, Rylie Sedustine, Natalie Jackson, Erik Jackson and Hannah Jackson. Norma has one sister Jodie Foley who lives with husband MJ Foley in Tulsa. Norma worked as a switch board operator , secretary, retail sales and various other positions with different companies over the years. However, Normaâ??s true love and passion was being at home loving her husband and raising their family. She and her husband “Ken” Jackson were founding members of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, meeting at Key Elementary School in the early 60â??s and attended and served over the years as the church expanded and grew. She wrote for many years in the Tidings newsletter with personal inspirational stories as part of the “Oral Traditions” segment. Norma “Mom J.” lovingly served her family as a faithful loving wife and mother. She spent her last 1 ½ years at the Sand Plum assisted living center located in Bixby, Oklahoma. She met many new friends over this time and became very close to many of the residents and especially the staff who loved her very much. Her passing came too suddenly for her family and friends who loved her so dearly, but we do rejoice that she has been released from the pains and suffering of this life. Her heart was truly focused on the final “Prize” of her life, Jesus Christ. It is in this new life that she has found eternal peace and is now home free. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday August 13, 2010 at the Floral Haven Memorial Chapel located at 6500 South 129th East Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
