Rodney D Ezzell
November 7, 1958 - January 13, 2009
Rodney Don Ezzell, 50, loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away suddenly January 13, 2009, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on November 7, 1958, to Don and Jorja Ezzell in Lawton, Oklahoma. He is survived by his parents, Don and Jorja Ezzell; one sister and brother-in-law, Ronda and Doug Young of Broken Arrow, OK; nephews and nieces, Jeremy and Vikki Young, Josh Young and Khyra Young, all of Broken Arrow, OK; great nephew, Phoenix Young of Broken Arrow, OK; and numerous other relatives survive him. Rodney’s greatest joy was his family. Rodney had numerous hobbies, including car racing, traveling, collectibles, fishing, sports, family nostalgia, and most importantly, attending band, school, and family outings with his niece, nephews, and great nephew. Rodney’s business accomplishments were many. He worked for Safeway/Homeland starting in high school as package carrier and ending as produce manager for 14 years before leaving to start his second career. He worked for IBM for 18 years as a Customer Service Center Manager, when he decided to pursue other opportunities. He was admired and respected for his intelligence and leadership. He had the ability to make lifelong friends and his daily life was dedicated to his family and friends. Rodney didn’t have children of his own, but his sister’s children were his world. His favorite words were to hear Uncle Rod’. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for these children, and the love he bestowed upon them, is beyond words. He was the family rock and leader. Rodney will be missed by his loving family and friends, but his memory of how he lived and loved, will last forever. The entire Ezzell, Dowdell, and Young family would like to express our gratitude and sincere appreciation to the nursing staff and doctors at Saint Francis Hospital Intensive Care Unit. The exemplary care he received there, by these outstanding staff, is appreciated by all. Also, all the support the family received from family members and friend, including the (three) amigos will never be forgotten. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Floral Haven Chapel, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. 918-252-2518.Survived By:
