Tuttle, parents, Roy and Leila Hill, Brothers Raymond Hill, Robert Hill, and Sisters Ethel Wallingford and Leta Barney.Upon graduating from Fulton High School during the war, Sylvia moved to Tulsa and began work as a secretary at Worthington Pump. As World War II was winding down, Sylvia’s brother Raymond, wanted to introduce Sylvia to a young Captain he served with in France who had recently relocated to Tulsa. After a short courtship, Sylvia married Jack D. Tuttle on May 4, 1946.While Jack completed his studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Tulsa, Sylvia continued to work until the birth of their first child, Steve. Upon graduation, Jack joined Warren Petroleum as a Gas Processing Engineer and began a series of moves from small Gas Processing company camps before they were transferred to the Warren Petroleum home office in Tulsa. During that period they were blessed with the birth of a son, Tom and daughter, Nancy.During this period, Sylvia dedicated herself to her family and raising her children. She was a wonderful mother who always put her children first. Jack’s job required extensive travel and Sylvia served as Mother, Chauffeur, Cub Scout Den Mother and fill-in Baseball coach if needed. But, just as important, Sylvia had an innate gift to nurture her children and to instill confidence in them, while still defining boundaries, that served them well in later years. When Jack unexpectedly passed away in 1983, just after his retirement, Sylvia entered a new phase of her life. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice she enjoyed years of singing with Sweet Adeline’s, the Asbury Choir and later with various singing groups at Montereau. But, the love of her life during her later years were grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always knew that Grandma believed in them and they had her unconditional love.Sylvia is survived by her son’s Steve and Tom and their wives Diane and Gay of Tulsa, daughter Nancy and her husband Rick Corgill of Broken Arrow, grandchildren Justin Tuttle of Austin, Texas, Julie Crowl and her husband, Brian of Ft.
