Terrence Dean Martin  Terrence Dean Martin, age 77, passed away on Thursday October 11, 2012.  Terry was born on December 14, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska to Iowa (Mayda) and Clyde Martin. He was the oldest of six siblings.  Terry is survived and mourned by 4 sisters, Judy Bates, Barbara Mastin, Twila McMurry, and Linda Clark, his three children, Terrence Dan and wife Kim, Timothy Dean , and Tara Deanne,7 grandchildren, 7 great grand children and many nieces and nephews. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Martin and Iowa (Mayda) Ryan, a sister, Ila and his beloved wife Margaret.   Terry spent his early childhood years in Omaha, NE and Corydon, IA. He was a voracious reader as a child and his love of reading, and a “good story”, stayed with him for his life.Terry became a US Marine infantryman before his 18th birthday and had experienced combat in the Korean Conflict before his 19th birthday. After his service in the USMC, Terry spent several years in the US Air Force serving a couple of years at a bomber base in England and then later in South Dakota and Texas. Terry was proud and thankful for his service to the nation.  Terry married Margaret Faye Dent on October 18, 1958 and they had three children together: Terrence Dan, Timothy Dean, and Tara Deanne. Terry became employed with Ruan Corp in the mid-1960â??s which prompted Terry and Margaret to move to a small town in southeastern Iowa (Cantril) where they raised their three children and were active in the local community. Terryâ??s career with Ruan Corp spanned greater than 45 years and he held many varied positions in his long career.  Terry was a long-term member of the Cantril City Council and the Cantril Lions Club. Terry also served with the Cantril Volunteer Fire Department. Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing and also donated much personal time to community improvement construction projects (tennis court, baseball diamond, etc).   Throughout his life, Terry was a lover of people and always enjoyed meeting new people from all walks of life. He was very open minded about people and always looked for the good in the people he met. Terry loved humor, jokes and story-telling. He was an excellent communicator and liked to share his experiences and hear about the experiences of others. From a very young age he had a thirst for life and travel. One of his favorite trips was a drive to Alaska a few years ago with a friend. Terry would recount details about almost any town in any state. It was truly amazing that he had been in so many places during his life. He truly did see our country.Terry loved his friends, his family and most of all his wife Margaret. He had missed her dearly every day since she passed.
